Opening of consular office in Russia’s Kazan and Yekaterinburg announced by PM Modi

PM Modi applauds President Putin for reinforcing India-Russia ties and revealed that he met Putin for the seventeenth time.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went on a two visit to Moscow and announced the opening of two new consular offices in Russia’s Kazan and Yekaterinburg. Mentioning the Indian dispersion, After being elected to office for a third sequential term, this was his first meeting with the Indian community internationally said PM Modi.

 

PM Modi said “Amidst the positivity, I am here to share good news with you… We have decided to open consulates in Kazan and Yekaterinburg. This move will enhance travel opportunities and promote greater business exchanges,” 

He applauds Vladimir Putin(The President of Russia) for reinforcing India-Russia ties, revealing that for the last 10 years, he visited Russia six times and has met with Putin seventeen times.

PM Modi said, “All our meetings have consistently aimed to enhance trust and respect. When our students were stranded during the conflict, President Putin assisted in their safe return. I am grateful to the people of Russia and my friend President Putin,”.

 

He also emphasizes that India’s relationship with Russia antecede to the seventeenth century, with the beginning of the India House at Astrakhan, where Gujarat traders had settled.

He also highlighted the significance of new connectivity drives, including the International North-South Trade Corridor and the Chennai-Vladivostok Eastern Maritime Corridor.

He also added, “Students from India come to Russia in large numbers for studies, and I have been informed that every state of India has associations here. This helps preserve the diversity of each state’s culture, food, language, and festivals,”.

In the last five years, it was the first trip of PM Modi to Russia, with the plan focusing on informing India’s trade disparity with the country and assuring the release of Indian citizens who were deceived into fighting in the Ukraine war.

 

He also stated, that in Russia the people of India celebrate every festival and support everyone to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day with great eagerness.
