Arvind Kejriwal’s health problems: Allegations of neglect in Tihar jail

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today raised serious concerns over the welfare of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that he was not given necessary medical treatment inside Tihar jail. Party spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that the jail authorities deliberately denied Mr Kejriwal access to insulin and consulted his doctor, raising fears about his health.

Allegations of neglect

Addressing the media at a press conference, according to Saurabh Bhardwaj, Arvind Kejriwal, who suffers from type 2 diabetes, has repeatedly requested for insulin and video conferences with his family doctor. Ironically, prison authorities have consistently rejected these demands.

“I want to say with full responsibility that a conspiracy is underway for the slow death of Arvind Kejriwal,” Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed citing blood sugar readings of the Chief Minister in jail.

Denial of Medical Aid

The AAP not only condemned the Tihar jail regime but also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the central government and the Delhi chief governor for their alleged involvement in preventing critical treatment of Mr. Kejriwal.

Bhardwaj said Arvind Kejriwal, who has been battling diabetes for over long time, should not be deprived of the insulin he needs to manage his condition.

Legal intervention

On Friday, the chief minister council Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi said mr Kejriwal has not been administered insulin to control his sugar levels since his arrest, terming it “shocking” and “alarming”.

The AAP’s woes were further highlighted when Mr Kejriwal contested Enforcement Directorate (ED) claims that he was snacking on high-sugar foods like mangoes and sweets in jail despite being diabetic. His lawyer said his dietary choices were in line with his doctor’s recommendations.

conspiracy theory

Saurabh Bhardwaj vehemently alleged that Mr Kejriwal’s health was being deliberately compromised, hinting at a nefarious plan to inflict multiple organ injuries, which would require extensive treatment after his release.

In conclusion, the charges leveled by AAP against Tihar jail officials and other officials underscore Arvind Kejriwal’s grave concern for his health and welfare. The ongoing controversy over its raises important questions about the rights and care of individuals imprisoned, regardless of their political affiliation
