This next-gen AI-driven chatbot is part of Google’s Gemini series, which includes the Gemini Ultra, Gemini Pro, and Gemini Nano models.

Among these, the Gemini Ultra enhances the cloud-based Gemini Advanced experience, while the Gemini Pro powers the Gemini chatbot and various other cloud services. On the other hand, the Gemini Nano focuses on on-device tasks such as generating summaries. Currently, the Gemini Nano is featured on Google’s Pixel 8 Pro (soon to expand to Pixel 8) and Samsung’s latest Galaxy S24 lineup.

According to a report from Daum Herald Economy (spotted by Android Authority), Google aims to unveil the “version 2” of Gemini Nano before Samsung introduces its Galaxy S25 models in January 2025. The upcoming Gemini Nano 2 is anticipated to bring significant enhancements to its on-device AI capabilities within the next year. However, specifics regarding new features remain undisclosed.

Cho Cheol-min, Managing Director of Samsung’s System LSI Division, has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will integrate Google’s advanced on-device AI model — Gemini Nano 2. Additionally, Samsung plans to double its workforce dedicated to developing on-device AI solutions for Exynos chips.
