NEET-UG Results 2024: On Wednesday, NTA submitted a new attestation to the Supreme Court, saying that there was no sign of “mass malpractice” or benefits leading to abnormal scores for the candidates in NEET-UG 2024. NTA said the Data Mining of results of NEET-UG 2024 was supervised by IIT Madras and as per the results given by the experts, the marks allocation follows the “bell-shaped” curve that is used on a large scale which shows no abnormality.

Supporting this opinion, the National Testing Agency (NTA), which manages NEET, also filed an attestation severely in the Supreme Court, keeping up that so far only 47 candidates – 17 in Patna and 30 in Godhra – have been assumed to be gratifying in the paper leak and irregularities relating to OMR sheets.

The attestations were submitted a day before a demote headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud is set to hear a batch of requests related to the controversy-mount medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024, including all the allegations related to the malpractices and abnormal scores on the May 5 test and wanting it to start afresh.

Key points from the attestations on NEET-UG 2024

  • NTA (The National Testing Agency) stated that the viral video that showed photos of a leaked NEET-UG question paper on the social media app Telegram was fake. The NTA affidavit said, “Discussions within the Telegram channel indicate that members identified the video as fake. The timestamp was manipulated to create a false impression of an early leak. Comments and discussions on social media further corroborate that the images in the video were edited, and the date was intentionally modified to suggest a May 4 leak. The screenshots highlight the fabricated nature of the claims made in the video”.

  • The NTA said it has executed an analysis of the allocation of marks in NEET-UG 2024 at the city, state, national and centre levels. The NTA said, “This analysis indicates that the distribution of marks is quite normal and there seems to be no extraneous factor, which would influence the distribution of marks,”

  • The NTA submitted the statement to the Supreme Court that it would depend on the uncovering of the IIT Madras report during the proceedings on Thursday.

  • NTA in its attestation, told as per results given by the heads of IIT Madras, there is an overall increment in the marks obtained by the students, specifically in the range of 550 to 720.

  • Apart from counselling, NTA said for 2024-25, from the third week of July, the counselling process will be direct in four rounds.
