Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up for the launch of the latest iteration of the Maruti Suzuki Swift in India. This upcoming Swift, now in its fourth generation, represents a significant overhaul of the third-generation platform. The new model boasts a fresh design, an entirely new engine, and revamped interior features. Let’s delve into the details of what you can expect from this exciting release.

Bookings and Launch Details
Bookings for the new Swift are currently open. Interested buyers can secure their booking online or by visiting their nearest dealer, with a booking amount set at Rs 11,000. Deliveries are anticipated to commence from June 2024. The official launch of the hatchback in the Indian market is scheduled for May 9, 2024.

Redesigned Exterior
The fourth-generation Swift showcases noticeable exterior revisions, including a redesigned front bumper with a new grille featuring bold black surrounds. It also highlights reworked smoked LED headlamps equipped with DRLs. The fog lamp housing has been updated with a splitter. Notably, the rear door handles return to their traditional location on the sides, departing from the C-pillar placement of the previous model. At the rear, the car presents a redesigned tailgate and bumper with a skid plate. Additional enhancements include an integrated rear spoiler with a stop lamp, LED taillights featuring C-shaped DRLs, and reflectors underneath. The exterior is further accentuated with blacked-out ORVMs, roofs, and pillars, along with distinct character lines running across the door panels.

The price for the new Swift is expected to begin from Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s expected to be offered in five variants – LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI plus.

Interior Features Inspired by Baleno and Fronx
Stepping inside, the new Swift interior draws inspiration from the Baleno and Fronx models. It showcases a refreshed dashboard layout with a floating infotainment system, complemented by sleek AC vents and HVAC controls beneath. Expected interior features comprise wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, steering-mounted controls, and automatic climate controls, among other conveniences.

Enhanced Engine and Transmission
Under the hood, the new Swift is likely to be powered by an all-new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the existing K12 four-cylinder powertrain. Although detailed specifications have not yet been disclosed, the engine is expected to produce over 85 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

This comprehensive overhaul of the Maruti Suzuki Swift promises to deliver an exciting blend of design, technology, and performance, catering to the evolving needs of Indian consumers.
