Tesla’s visionary CEO Elon Musk was set to embark on a much-awaited visit to India on April 21 and 22, aimed at unveiling Tesla’s plans to enter the Indian market and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi but was recently put on hold. Elon Musk has clarified the reason for this delay by a post on his x handle- ‘’very heavy Tesla obligations’’.
The reason for the termination
In a X handle of Elon, he posted that because of ‘’Tesla’s very heavy obligations” that needed to be taken care of immediately he had to be delayed his visit to India. But Musk expressed a willingness to reschedule his visit later in the year.
Promises in the United States
The SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is reportedly determined to hold an important conference call in the United States on April 23, where he will address questions about Tesla’s performance in the first quarter, to establish his responsibilities emphasizing the difficulty.

Ahead of the scheduled visit, Musk had expressed interest in meeting PM Modi and unveiling Tesla’s investment plans in India Notably, he targeted a huge investment $2-3 billion will be invested to set up a factory for entry-level vehicles that match Tesla’s market entry strategy furthermore the Indian government also announced the policy of lowering high tariffs on imported cars if firms invest locally.

Musk’s agenda included meetings with Indian aerospace-technology startups, such as SkyRoot Aerospace, Dhruva Space, Piersight and Digantara in New Delhi, and expressed his passion for India’s growing aerospace industry.
Previous meetings
Prime Minister Modi and Musk have crossed paths several times, where the Indian leader acknowledged Musk’s support for India. The relationship was established during Modi’s visit to the Tesla plant in 2015 and the US in the year 2023.
