Modi’s Ladakh Visit for 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, is going to Ladakh on 26th July in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. On 24-26th July at Drass in the Kargil district there will be held ceremonies marking India’s remarkable victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War.

The LG has initiated preparations for the PM’s visit starting with a meeting at the Lt Governor’s secretariat where they discussed some necessary arrangements such as security, reception at Drass helipad, motorcade logistics and wreath-laying ceremony procedure as well as how to meet war widows and prepare green room at helipad.

PM Modi would arrive at Drass Brigade Helipad in the morning of July 26th where he will be received by army officials. Thereafter, after a brief rest in the green room, he shall proceed to Kargil War Memorial for participating in wreath laying ceremony and visit Shaheed Marg (Wall of Fame).

The Lt Governor was briefed by Major General Sachin Malik who is also GOC of 8 Mountain Division.
